Roger Moore
Professor Roger Moore has over 20 years’ experience in the applied earth sciences for engineering, planning, development and environmental projects worldwide.
Roger is a leading practitioner in engineering geomorphology and geohazard risk specialist for onshore and offshore projects worldwide. He is a recognised UK expert in coastal landslide and erosion prediction and management. In 2000, he was an expert witness for geomorphology for the high-profile Birling Gap public inquiry in the UK.
He joined Halcrow in 1997 to work on the Landslip Investigation Consultancy and Natural Terrain Hazard and Risk Studies in Hong Kong. Since 2000, Roger has developed the UK’s largest group of professional engineering geomorphologists, working for a diverse range of UK and international client markets. He was appointed Professor of Applied Geomorphology at the University of Sussex in 2010.
Roger has co-authored several books and published over 60 technical papers in his discipline. He sits on five UK committees, is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the Geological Society and editorial board member of the Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology.
