Halcrow Yolles provided structural engineering services for the striking Veer Towers, a set of 37-storey (480-foot) tall, 335-unit glass residential buildings that are part of CityCenter in Las Vegas, Nevada, the largest, most significant privately funded project in the United States, and one of the world’s largest green developments.

The two towers are distinctively leaning 4.5 degrees off-center in opposite directions. The striking glass façades and fins not only shimmer brilliantly in the sunlight, but also provide shade and promote energy-efficient climate control by diverting heat and enhancing the circulation of cool air. Inside, residents have their pick of penthouses, studios, or one-, two- or three-bedroom suites and are pampered by infinity edge pools with cabanas, hot tubs and sun decks.

Halcrow Yolles ensured that these complex structures are able to resist wind, earthquakes and the effects of gravity that pull on their unique shapes. We also used our design expertise to maximize the available leasing space and accommodate the client’s desire for flexibility in the lobby areas, which showcase the beauty of the towers’ architecture through metal statements, exposed concrete walls and monumental glass boxes flooded with light.

Designed by Murphy/Jahn and Adamson Associates, Veer Towers has made the Las Vegas Strip more than just a getaway destination – it has been transformed into the epitome of stylish urban living and a place to call home.
