Halcrow Yolles is providing building services engineering design and BREEAM sustainability advice for this new £19M secondary school for over 1,000 students in Crawley, West Sussex.

There were many environmental initiatives included in the scheme such as bio-mass boiler installation, super-insulation, rainwater recycling and high levels of natural light.

The new building was designed to the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) to minimise the environmental impact of the development with an “excellent” rating.
