Role: Structural engineering and building services

Halcrow Yolles was selected to undertake structural engineering and building services for the refurbishment of Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow's West End. Known as Glasgow's 'favorite building', the art gallery and museum was originally constructed at the end of the 19th century, and sits in its own inner city parkland setting in an area of high civic amenity.

The refurbishment proposals involved the opening up of the lower ground floor area to provide an additional floor, installation of passenger lifts and structural repairs to the existing fabric.
