Engineering is one of the most exciting and challenging careers that you can choose.
That was the message to youngsters when a trio of Halcrow employees from the Exeter office flew the flag at the Teign School careers fair in Kingsteignton, Devon.
Hydrologists Charlotte Hart and James Jones and drainage engineer Paul Hargreaves told GCSE pupils and A-Level students about the incredible variety of work and opportunities on offer at Halcrow.
Their eye-catching stand showcased Halcrow’s flood app which was launched last summer. It also featured displays about the nearby Boscastle flood defence scheme and Wave Hub as well as the Cross-Rail project.
“We were kept very busy answering questions from students, parents and teachers,” said Charlotte. “They were all excited to hear about the projects we’re involved in locally and nationally as well as overseas”.
“There was plenty of interest in Halcrow and all the careers we offer. It was really encouraging to see so much enthusiasm for engineering.”
