A Halcrow-authored paper was awarded a prestigious prize at the Institution of Structural Engineers' (IStructE) annual luncheon, held on 2 June in London.

Focusing on the design and construction of Wembley Stadium’s new footbridge, the paper – written by Halcrow’s Billy Ahluwalia and co-authored by Krishna Ganasalingam, David Phillips and Harold Marais of the London Development Agency – took home the Husband Prize.

Bridge-related papers published in leading industry magazine The Structural Engineer during 2010 were eligible for the award.

The White Horse Bridge is a 55m long by 30m wide pedestrian bridge linking Wembley Hill Road / Wembley Triangle and South Way. Spanning the suburban railway line, it serves as a crucial conduit for pedestrians visiting the new Wembley Stadium. The bridge was completed at the end of 2006.
