Halcrow shortlisted for two key health and safety awards

This year’s winners will be announced at the APS annual awards dinner which will be held in London on 8 September.

Two Halcrow projects have been nominated for one of the UK’s most prestigious health and safety awards.

The Association for Project Safety (APS) CDM awards recognise projects that demonstrate excellence in design and construction health and safety risk management.

Halcrow’s work on the Cobbins Brook flood alleviation scheme in Waltham Abbey is one of the three finalists for the project of the year award. The category recognises projects that demonstrate excellence in design and construction health and safety risk management from inception through to completion. The awards also consider the use, maintenance and eventual deconstruction of the project.

The CDM co-ordinator team who worked on Glasgow’s eye-catching Tradeston Bridge has been nominated for the CDM co-ordinator of the year award. This award category recognises the co-ordinator who best demonstrated excellence in the execution of their duties under the CDM regulations. A key component of Glasgow’s riverside regeneration, the double curved structure was created in partnership with the architects Dissing and Weitling.

This year’s winners will be announced at the APS annual awards dinner which will be held in London on 8 September.
