Halcrow was invited to share its expertise in the performance management of road maintenance contracts at the Nordicway conference in Östersund, Sweden.
With roads experts from northern Europe and the US attending, Halcrow’s Donald Bell presented a paper entitled “Driving value and improving standards in road maintenance”.
The presentation outlined Halcrow’s experience from working on the Performance Audit Group (PAG) commissions for Transport Scotland. A copy of the presentation is available here.
Trafikverket the Swedish Transport Administration issued Halcrow with the invitation to attend the conference. Jan Ölander, senior advisor commented:
“We are keen to share knowledge from around the world at Nordicway. Donald’s paper provided an insight into how value is delivered in Scottish road maintenance and how these lessons can be transferred to other countries”.
The unique expertise Halcrow has developed in performance management is proving to be of interest to roads authorities around the world. Halcrow’s transportation sales manager for Halcrow Ben Sheppard added:
“As roads authorities demand greater control over the private sector, they want to see transparent alignment to their own aims and objectives. In the current economic climate, the introduction of a specialised service such as PAG can lower risk and assist clients to strategically avoid unnecessary costs through greater transparency and control of their day to day business”.
