We got around 60 members of staff to wear trainers and I ran a ‘Trainer Hunt’ throughout the office. I also ran a small quiz challenge from my desk called, “How well do you know your trainers?”

Employees at Halcrow’s Glasgow office put their best foot forward on 14 March to mark their support for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Around 60 employees ditched their normal footwear and turned up for work in their trainers. The ‘Sport Your Trainers’ Day took place on Commonwealth Day and was part of a Scotland-wide campaign to support the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Organised by Glasgow 2014, the “Sport Your Trainers” campaign is planned to run every year before the games begin. The event will increase in size and scope over the coming years, culminating in the Commonwealth Games themselves.

The campaign was officially launched in February at Scotstoun Leisure Centre in Glasgow, by Glasgow 2014 Chairman Robert Smith and Commonwealth medallist Robbie Renwick.
