Halcrow’s progress over the last year in addressing the challenges of sustainable development is detailed in the recently published A responsible business – sustainability report, 2010.
From cutting-edge research into low carbon concrete to support for underprivileged students in Los Angeles, US, the report shows how Halcrow is working as a responsible company and playing an influential role in promoting sustainable living.
The report focuses on the work that is being done in Halcrow’s regions, with a particular focus on North America. It also describes how the company and its employees are volunteering their talents and support for a range of social projects around the world, many of them supported through the Halcrow Foundation.
Halcrow’s director of sustainability, Andrew Kluth said: “The report illustrates just how much is going on within the business. It shows the enthusiasm of our people across the globe as well as the developing expectations of clients.
“There are real challenges that we need to address. Some of these will take time to bear fruit, but we need to start working on them now. We are seeking to be visionary and this will benefit us as sustainability becomes better understood and embedded in our work with our clients.”
