Halcrow sponsors Carbon Reduction 2010, London Andrew Kluth, Halcrow’s group sustainability director is set to speak at “Carbon Reduction 2010: Delivering a Low Carbon Future − A New Decade of Transformation” conference and exhibition.To be held at the Church House Conference Centre in London on the 29 June, the event is an annual, national summit that highlights the current status of government policy and progress towards delivering a low carbon future.
With the arrival of a new administration, this conference aims to highlight upcoming government policy. Moreover, given the importance of international co-operation on creating a low carbon future, the conference will incorporate the role of the EU in driving policy, and help define the UK's strategy within the broader international arena.The UK aims to reduce carbon emissions by 10 per cent by 2010, 34 per cent by 2020, and achieve 80 per cent emission reductions by 2050.
The first country in the world to set legally binding 'carbon budgets', this initiative ensured carbon reduction remained at the forefront of government policy and, therefore, had a direct impact on every level of government, business and our daily lives.Andrew Kluth’s presentation “Supporting the Delivery of Integrated Low Carbon Solutions”, will examine the advantages of working with advisers who have a breadth of sustainability expertise coupled with the ability to anticipate issues over the short- and long-term.
