April 2009
Halcrow’s Middle East regional development manager, Samir Fattah, is set to attend “Invest Iraq, London 2009”.
To be held on 30 April at the Landmark London Hotel, representatives from the UK government and over 100 top international companies will be joined by a delegation of Iraqi ministers and senior officials, led by Prime Minister Maliki.
Hosted by Iraq’s National Investment Commission, with the support of the UK Department for International Development, the conference is aimed at promoting investment and trade in Iraq. It will provide information about the key sectors and opportunities for foreign direct investment. A reception at 10 Downing Street will punctuate the day’s events, and serve as additional opportunity to strengthen ties between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
Commenting on the event Samir Fattah said, “Invest Iraq is a good opportunity for Halcrow to meet Iraqi stakeholders and discuss the transportation, water, power, oil and telecommunication sectors. With an improvement in security comes a renewed sense of optimism for investors. With a market of 28 million people, considerable wealth, abundant natural resources and decades of under-investment, Iraq provides significant potential for international trade and investment”
