Halcrow has been shortlisted in three categories for the British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA) 2009.
As three of 41 UK and international entries that have been whittled down from the original 180 or more entries, Halcrow will be represented at the awards ceremony in October.
Halcrow’s Dounreay Site Restoration, Scotland, project has been shortlisted for the Civil Engineering Project £3 million and £50 million category, with London’s Docklands Light Railway Woolwich Arsenal Extension project being shortlisted for the Major Project over £50 million category.
For the international category, Dames Point Container Terminal, Florida, for which Halcrow was principal consultant for the permitting, design and construction of the project, was shortlisted.
In addition all UK projects are eligible for the Best Practice Award. All UK and international projects are considered for the Judges' Special Award sponsored by Mott MacDonald.
Woolwich Arsenal Extension project is also eligible for the Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award sponsored by CABE, OGC and BERR.
The awards take place on 14 October at Grosvenor House Hotel in London, with Ian Hislop – British satirist, writer, broadcaster and editor of the magazine Private Eye – as compere for the evening.
