We use our airport modelling software ARCport ALTO to provide airside simulation; modelling the aircraft, airspace, ground movement around the apron and on stand and aircraft servicing.
The software’s built-in stand assignment tool can either be used as a stand-alone tool to analyse stand and gate assignment or to provide input to a wider simulation.
We also use VISSIM to model detailed movements on the airside roads, identifying areas of congestion. Using the two pieces of software in conjunction, Halcrow can provide a complete picture from landside access right through to the airside.
